It's summer break....and summer break means more time to write on here! So, it starts with this short and sweet blog.
One of my first posts on here was about human trafficking and the slave trade that not only still exists today, but is bigger than ever. When we think slavery, most of us think back to pre-Civil War era U.S. when slavery was legal. While it may be illegal today, it is alive and running stronger than ever. Thanks to the people who are advocates for those who are enslaved, the world has been hearing more about the ongoing existence of this crime and more and more people are fighting against it.
While this issue is so huge, and can be overwhelming, we are strong and God is bigger. If we put our voices, our money, our time together, we can make a difference. We need to keep this issue on the forefront of our minds and our hearts and our tongues.
I wanted to post a link to an organization called Restore Innocence started by some college friends of mine in Colorado. It's a pretty incredible story and a pretty incredible organization. There are ways to help no matter where you live whether it's financially, through prayer, through advocating, through sending supplies, or whatever other means you may have. Every child, every woman, every human rescued from slavery is incredibly important, and you can play a part. And, I will tell you that the store sells some really cute items decorated with a black bow - which you can read about on their website. It is: http://www.restoreinnocence.org/about
